The manager was very polite and nice, however the experience overall with him was frustrating. 1. I brought in a loose wheel that had a small hole in the sidewall from a thorn, as well as a new tire from Tire Rack that I needed swapped onto it for a road hazard claim. 2. I dropped the wheel and tire off at 3:30pm, they were open until 8pm, he said he couldn't get to it, but that he would have it done first thing in the morning. I don't understand why it would take so long, but agreed and told him I'd stop back during my lunch break the next day. 3. I returned during my lunch break around 12:30pm, the wheel was still sitting where I left it the day before. He came walking up as I was explaining to another front desk staff that I was told it would be done in the morning, he apologized profusely and said he could have it done in 20 minutes... I couldn't wait as I'm using my lunch break, so I said I'd return at the end of the day. 4. I came back at about 6:30pm, picked up the wheel and took it home to put it on the car. 5. As I was putting it on the car, I realized it was mounted backwards (large 'Inner Side' on the tire facing outwards). I called them up, it was just after 7pm when they close, the same guy answered, I explained it was mounted backwards and he told me to bring it back and he'll get it switched. 6. This caused me to look at it closer, I saw it only had weights on the inside, none on the outside, so I assumed statically balanced. So, when I took it back I specifically asked if he would dynamically balance it and offered sticky weights if needed (no lip on the outside edge for lead weights). He then told me that he didn't balance it when he swapped them because he 'marked the tire' and put it on the same. This ONLY works when you're putting the SAME tire back on, not with a new tire.... questioning his competency now. He said he has sticky weights, switches the tire around and balances it, and I got it back about 7:30pm. 7. I went to mount it, noticed the weights are only on the inside of the spokes, none around the inner side... Statically balanced... which I SPECIFICALLY asked not to happen. I have a GeoDyna 2800p, so I checked the balance (dynamically), it needed 0.25oz on the inside lip and .50oz on the outer (behind the spokes). I removed the TAN weights he installed (black wheel), and had to re-balance to make right (with black sticky weights). (yes, I have a tire machine, and balancer, the only reason I brought it in was because it's a road hazard claim and they required a receipt from a licensed tire dealer) 8. Sooo... for a loose wheel getting a new tire, it took over 28 hours, 4 separate trips, and in the end I STILL HAD TO DO IT MYSELF. I have zero confidence in the competency of the entire shop as a result. If the MANAGER can not install a tire timely and properly, why would I trust anything else they do?....Read More
