The car went in for tire rotation and oil change when the car was picked the engine was idling between 2200 to 1500 rpms when Iidle. The tech discovered codes that indicated the map air flow sensor was bad. He tried to diagnose the issue and very helpful but could not get it resolved. Took the vehicle home and later on in the day discovered the car had lost a large amount of oil. Tried to measure how much oil from the dip stick and could not determine how much the car had a it was making a knocking sound. Called the shop in the morning yesterday the 19th spoke to the manager Joe and he was not really accommodating as I requested the vehicle be towed to shop. He finally agreed to get it towed and had his head tech work on the vehicle and they had it for almost 3 hours. When he advised the vehicle was ready he stated the oil dip stick had dislodge from the engine which is why it leaked oil. The issue we have is that while Joe did help to give us our vehicle back he was not pleasant at the end. When we asked about the issue with idle of the vehicle he totally dismissed as he took care of the leak and that was his major goal. Never once did he apologize for the inconvenience. BTW we found out that the reason the engine was not idle ling correctly was due to the dip stick being broken off as the vehicle is idling correctly now. We are having Audi verify that was the issue as they are indicating the turbo engine would not breathe correctly if that dip stick were to be broken off and trigger the codes and the engine not idling correctly. While things I know some time s can happen unintentionally it could had been handled quite differently with Joe and he could had addressed the idling issue as well with us since he had a different crew there with him. This is a similar incident that I had with Jow from 3 years ago on another one of my vehicles when a tech over tightened an oil filter. At first How was not nice to deal when I took the vehicle back and I requested that the vehicle be worked on right away and he told me I would have to wait. I told him it was unacceptable and he took care of me. I have brought in my vehicles on a regulate basis back to the shop and thought I had built a decent relationship with him. That was not the case work the way he treated us yesterday. I would think he would h had done everything in his power to have Made everything right .
