“A few factors go into determining the cost of an oil change:

Vehicle Type and Oil Change Prices:
Consider the type of vehicle you drive. Larger vehicles often have engines that hold more oil, so they need more than the up-to-five quarts of oil used in a standard oil change. If your truck takes seven or eight quarts of oil, plan to spend some extra money.
Location and Oil Change Costs:
Your location can impact the cost of an oil change. Areas with high costs of living often charge more simply to cover the labor associated with the oil change.
Cost Differences in Oil Grades:
The price of an oil change depends on the type of oil used. Our Stores pour a selection of quality Valvoline motor oil grades, from our Daily Protection Synthetic Blend, designed for everyday dependable protection, to other high performance full synthetic blends, engineered for superior protection. Our trained Technicians will use your vehicle’s manufacturer’s guidelines to work with you to determine the best Valvoline motor oil grade for your car, truck, van, or SUV.”

Tire repair pricing is affordable and depends on the size and location of the damage. Not every tire can be safely repaired, so we’ll inspect it first and give you an upfront price before doing any work. Stop in and we’ll take a look.

For an exact price, request a free quote online or call your local Tire Choice. And remember, our tires are backed by a 30-Day Price Guarantee — if you find a lower advertised price at a local competitor, we’ll refund the difference.

Yes, we carry tires from various reputable brands to suit different vehicles and budgets. Our knowledgeable staff can assist you in selecting the right tires based on your vehicle specifications, driving habits, and budget. We also offer tire-related services such as rotations, alignments, and repairs.

Most tires last somewhere between 50,000 and 60,000 miles, but that depends heavily on the tire, your driving habits, road conditions, and how well the tires are maintained. It’s time for new tires when the tread is worn to the wear bars, when you see uneven or excessive wear, or when a tire is damaged beyond safe repair. We’ll check your tread depth and overall tire condition for free and let you know where you stand.

It depends on your vehicle and how much tread is left on your other tires. Replacing a single tire can create a tread-depth mismatch that affects handling — and all-wheel-drive vehicles in particular often require tires to be replaced in sets. We’ll measure your remaining tread and recommend whether one, two, or all four should be replaced. Always check your owner’s manual for the manufacturer’s guidance as well.

Yes. We’re happy to mount and balance tires you’ve purchased online or elsewhere. Installation pricing depends on your vehicle — call your local Tire Choice for a quote and to schedule a time.

Our focus is on new, name-brand tires backed by manufacturer warranties and our 30-Day Price Guarantee, so availability of used tires and trade-ins varies by location. Please contact your local Tire Choice to ask what’s available in your area.

Yes. When a tire can be safely repaired, our technicians perform a proper repair that combines a patch and plug from the inside of the tire. Whether a tire can be repaired depends on the size and location of the puncture and the tire’s overall condition, so we’ll inspect it first and let you know before doing any work.

A plug fills a puncture from the outside and is really only a temporary fix on its own, while a patch is applied to the inside of the tire to seal the puncture reliably. The safest, longest-lasting repair combines both — a patch-plug installed from inside the tire — which is the method our technicians use whenever a tire can be safely repaired.

“Yes, we provide tire installation services for all types of vehicles. Our experienced technicians ensure proper mounting and balancing to optimize your vehicle’s performance and safety.

Absolutely, tire balancing is essential for a smooth and comfortable ride. Our technicians use advanced balancing equipment to correct any imbalances, resulting in improved tire longevity and driving performance.”

If your tire pressure warning light illuminates, it’s important to check your tire pressures as soon as possible. Low tire pressure can affect handling, fuel efficiency, and tire longevity. If you’re unsure or need assistance, don’t hesitate to visit us for a thorough inspection.

We install and balance wheels and can help with wheel-related services such as mounting new rims and TPMS sensor service. Specialty work like rim welding or straightening isn’t offered at every location, so please call your local Tire Choice to confirm what we can do for your vehicle.

Many vehicles these days now have an oil life monitor that tells you when its time. Otherwise, follow the instructions in your owner’s manual. Ask your technician to print out the maintenance schedule for your make and model. Regular oil changes keep your engine running in top condition, save gas, and help you avoid major repairs. In fact, you can improve your gas economy by about 5%, according to the U.S. Department of Energy, by keeping your car in shape, inflating your tires to the correct pressure, and using the recommended grade of oil for your engine.

Our oil change service at Tire Choice is a comprehensive package designed to optimize your vehicle’s performance and longevity. “Follow the oil specifications in your vehicle owner’s manual. Your Tire Choice technician can provide you with the right recommendations based on your driving conditions and vehicle make, model, and mileage.

Today’s full synthetic and synthetic-mineral blends are excellent for tough conditions such as stop-and-go driving, frequent trips, and towing. And for engine fills and top-offs, they are considered equivalent or superior to conventional oil. In fact, many newer car and truck models specify synthetic oil. Consult your owner’s manual for oil specifications and a maintenance schedule. Or, speak to one of our managers about the best type and grade of oil for your car or truck and type of driving.”

You should check the oil every few hundred miles, or every other time you fill your gas tank. Consult your owner’s manual for the position of the oil dipstick and engine oil filler opening. The best time to check the oil is when your engine is warm and on level ground. Turn off the vehicle and wait a few minutes. Then pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean with a rag, and reinsert it. Push it all the way in. Pull out the dipstick, again. It will have either two notches or an indent to show the oil level. It’s best to keep the oil level at or near the top mark. If the oil is between the two marks, you may add oil. Below the bottom mark, add oil. At or above the top mark, do not add oil. Too much oil in your engine can actually cause problems. If you’re low, add oil a little at a time (no more than half a quart to a quart), then re-check. Replace the dipstick before you close the hood. It’s a good idea to keep at least one quart of oil in your garage and one in your trunk. The oil specifications for your make and model are in your owner’s manual. Or, stop by one of our stores. We would be happy to check your oil and top it off for free.

First of all, don’t ignore it. It could mean that you are dangerously low on oil. Turn off the engine and wait a few minutes. Then check the oil level. If your car is low, adding oil might resolve the issue. Other causes of low oil pressure include a faulty oil pump, plugged screens or filters, leaking or burning oil, or a failed oil pressure sending unit. If adding oil does not take care of the problem, don’t drive the car. Have it towed to our store for expert help.

Visit our store for expert advice. You might be able to drive your car or truck as is, with more frequent oil changes, or you might want to invest in engine work, depending on how long you plan to own the vehicle.

The frequency of oil filter changes typically aligns with your vehicle’s recommended oil change intervals, which vary depending on factors such as driving habits, vehicle age, and manufacturer guidelines. It’s helpful to follow the recommendations outlined in your vehicle’s owner’s manual. As a general rule, replacing the oil filter during every oil change ensures optimal engine protection and longevity, helping to trap harmful contaminants and maintain peak performance.

“A general guideline is to replace the engine air filter every 12,000 miles, but certain driving conditions may warrant more frequent replacements. Signs that it’s time for a new engine air filter include reduced airflow, decreased engine efficiency, or visible dirt and debris on the filter itself. Additionally, if you notice any unusual engine sounds or a decrease in fuel efficiency, it’s wise to have your air filter inspected and replaced if necessary. Our knowledgeable technicians at Tire Choice can assess your filter’s condition and recommend the best course of action based on your vehicle’s needs and OEM specifications.

It’s recommended to replace your car’s cabin air filter approximately every 12 months to maintain optimal airflow and filtration efficiency inside your vehicle. This regular replacement interval helps ensure that your vehicle’s ventilation system remains clear and free of harmful airborne contaminants such as dust, pollen, mold spores, and debris. By keeping your cabin air filter fresh, you can improve air quality and optimize airflow for a more comfortable driving experience. Our technicians at Tire Choice can assist you in selecting and replacing the appropriate cabin air filter for your vehicle to ensure your continued comfort and well-being on the road.”

“On average, a car battery’s lifespan is around 4 years and 3 months. However, several factors can influence this duration. Well-maintained batteries, with regular cleaning and tight connections, tend to last longer. Additionally, climate plays a significant role, with batteries in cooler regions lasting up to 5 years, while those in hot and humid climates might only last 2 or 3 years.

Yes — we test batteries and the charging system as part of our courtesy inspection, and we replace batteries with free installation. If your battery is weak or your dashboard battery light is on, stop in and we’ll check it for you.”

When the battery warning light illuminates on your dashboard, it signals a problem with charging the car’s battery. “Knowing when to replace your shocks and struts is crucial for maintaining a safe and smooth ride. Signs that indicate it’s time for replacement include bouncing, floating, leaning, or nose-diving sensations while driving. Additionally, premature tread wear such as cupping and scalloping on your tires can be indicators of worn-out shocks or struts. According to the Motorist Assurance Program (MAP), OEM shock absorbers and struts typically show wear and performance degradation after around 50,000 miles of driving. If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, it’s advisable to visit our experts at Tire Choice for a thorough inspection and potential replacement of your shocks and struts.

Regular inspection of your shocks and struts is essential for ensuring your vehicle’s safety and performance. We recommend having your shocks and struts inspected as part of your routine maintenance schedule or during every visit to our service center. Our ASE certified technicians conduct a comprehensive inspection of your vehicle’s suspension system as part of our free courtesy inspection, checking for signs of wear, damage, or performance degradation. By addressing any issues early on, you can prevent further damage and ensure a smooth and safe driving experience.”

“The frequency of tune-ups for your vehicle depends on various factors, including its age, mileage, and type of ignition system. While newer vehicles equipped with computer-based fuel injection systems may require tune-ups every 25,000 to 100,000 miles, older vehicles with traditional ignition systems typically benefit from tune-ups every 10,000 to 12,000 miles or annually. It’s always best to consult your vehicle’s manufacturer manual for specific tune-up maintenance recommendations. However, if you notice signs such as dashboard warning lights, unusual sounds or vibrations, difficulty starting, poor fuel mileage, or sluggish acceleration, it may indicate that your car is overdue for a tune-up. At Tire Choice, our experienced technicians are here to provide expert tune-up services tailored to your vehicle’s needs, ensuring optimal performance and reliability on the road.

Depending on factors like age, mileage, and condition, our technicians provide expert guidance on recommended services, which may include replacing spark plugs, adjusting ignition timing, checking emission-control devices, inspecting plug wires and distributor components, and performing fuel system and air intake system checks.”
